Become a Member
As a member, your name will be added to our mailing list to receive copies of our newsletter, and you will also receive a membership card that entitles you to a 10% discount on purchases at the Meow Mart (food, litter, and sale items excluded). The minimum membership donation is $25.
We also do gift memberships! Send us the recipient's information and we will send them an acknowledgement note with their membership card.
You can sign up to be a member in person at the shelter or Meow Mart, by mail, or online. To send your membership donation by mail, please print the Membership Form (click the button below) and mail it in.
Volunteer
Volunteers are essential to the ongoing operations of the shelter. There are no “insignificant” jobs—all jobs are important to our success. We thoroughly clean the shelter daily, and floors are swept and mopped. In addition to all litter boxes and cages being cleaned, the food and water dishes and hard toys are cleaned and disinfected.
All blankets, towels and soft toys are laundered daily. Of course, the cats all need to be fed and given fresh water, some need daily medication, and all of them need attention.
There are jobs that don’t require cleaning or feeding, such as fundraising, being an adoption counselor, and helping write grant proposals. We really need assistance in these areas.

We also need volunteers to work in the Meow Mart. If you are interested in working a 3 hour shift in the Meow Mart each week, please call 513-984-3312 and ask for Nancy.

Giving online is a quick and secure way to make a membership, sponsorship, memorial or any other gift.
Memorial Donations
Making a donation to The Scratching Post is a wonderful way to honor the memory of a deceased pet, friend, or family member. If you are making the donation for someone else’s pet or relative, we will send them an acknowledgement of your thoughtfulness. Just send us a check along with the name of person or pet and a name and address to whom we should send the acknowledgement if required. You can also always make a Memorial Donation online.
Kroger Rewards
The kind folks at Kroger are giving back to the community through their new Kroger Community Rewards Program, and The Scratching Post is one of the recipients! We will receive a percentage of the total. There is NO cost to you and it doesn’t affect any other Kroger Rewards perks you may be enjoying. Here’s the scoop:
Already Have a Kroger Plus Card? If you already have a Kroger Plus Card, you will need to enroll in the Community Rewards Program. Go to www.krogercommunityrewards.com, sign in at the bottom of your profile page, and click on the Community Rewards Tab (at the bottom of your profile page). The Scratching Post organization number is 80355.
Don't Have a Kroger Plus Card? If you do not have a Kroger Plus Card, you can get one at the Customer Service Desk at any Kroger store. Then visit www.krogercommunityrewards.com and sign up.
